Brief Introduction of Project: SBI Gram Seva is a flagship program of SBI Foundation for integrated rural development. Launched in August 2017, the program aims for socio-economic upliftment of the communities in the rural areas across the country. The program is implemented in partnership with grassroot NGOs and strategically emphasizes on the key areas of rural development like Education, Healthcare, Drinking Water and Sanitation, Agriculture, Alternate Livelihoods, Women Empowerment and Natural Resource Development etc. Through Gram Seva program, SBI Foundation is working towards realizing Mahatma Gandhi's vision of Gram Swaraj. The program is a small yet significant step in the journey towards ‘Viksit Bharat’.
The SBI Foundation taken decision to partner with PRAVAH for the execution of the SBI Gram Seva initiative across five villages situated in the Maheshpur block of the Pakur district with in the state of Jharkhand, India. PRAVAH is implementing organization for the work of 10 thematic areas which comes under SBI foundation who is donor of this project.SBI Gram Seva project,initiated in the fiscal year 2025-26,marks asign if i cant collaboration between the SBI Foundation and PRAVAH. This initiative focuses on five villages – Devinagar, Lalchua, Pathradaha, Gangmuri and Khuridih–nestled within the Maheshpur block of Pakur,India.The partnership leverages Pravah's established expertise in sustainable rural development, encompassing natural resource management, climate-resilient agriculture, and holistic village development that prioritizes health, education,livelihood enhancement,and women's empowerment.
